WORLD-CLASS ART
for World-Class Clients
If you are looking for world-class art with an unparalleled level of realism, do not settle for anything less than excellence. Each work is carefully thought out with an emphasis on detail and composition. Whether a personalized commission or a new work for your collection, take a moment to reach out to the artist.
Born and raised in the St. Louis Area, I actually took my first art class in college while attending EIU. Inspired by Italian Old Master painters, I studied abroad at the Florence Academy of Art and have been refining my skill-set ever since.
The devil is always in the detail.
I primarily use oils on canvas. Even though it takes longer to dry, I enjoy adding in layers for richer color and smoother blending. I will use acrylics occasionally for texture along with a variety of other paint mediums (linseed oil, liquin, etc.)
Please reach me at icolemeyer@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Long. No, but seriously this is a common question I get and each painting varies depending on size and detail. Since I usually have several works going on at once, it can be hard to gauge the actual time spent on each one. I would ballpark most of them being in upwards of 50 hours with some of the more detailed ones being 80+ hours.
If you are wanting an original work that I already have on hand, the answer is: fairly quickly. If you are looking to commission a one-of-a-kind masterpiece, I typically request 4 months of lead time since I already have other works in the backlog. If you have something time-sensitive, please reach out and make sure to mention that in your request.
There are several artists I've drawn inspiration from over the years. Some of my favorites are Caravaggio, Dali, Banksy, Titian, Gil Elvgren & Rembrandt. I did watch quite a bit of Bob Ross though growing up and occasionally will still throw it on YouTube while I paint. Gotta love happy accidents (even though I try to avoid them).
I use traditional oil paints on gessoed cotton canvas, but I will occasionally incorporate acrylics as well creating some mixed media works.
Yes. I did not actually start painting until I was in college at Eastern Illinois University though. In order to get into the Graphic Design program, one of the prerequisites was Painting I and Life Drawing. I enjoyed it so much that I kept with it throughout school. From there, I was given the chance to study abroad in Italy where I had an apartment in Florence while attending the Florence Academy of Art.
I always have more works available than what is shown on the website. Please use the 'Contact' section to email me in regards to what you are interested in. Whether it be Athletic Art, Landscape or Figurative; chances are I have something to view. If you have a personalized request, commissions are always welcome and a sure way to garner attention.
